EVENTS 101 & 301
NBTDA CONFERENCE
NOV. 9 - 12, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA
Each year, the NBTDA presents its tour planning primer, Events 101, at 8:30 a.m. on the first full day (Thursday) of our annual conference. Events 101 focuses on the basics of bicycle touring event planning with topics such as insurance, waivers, marketing, route marking, sag wagon service, etc. Although designed for people new to tour directing, many long-time NBTDA members continue to attend Events 101 as an annual refresher course. It is included in your conference fee.

Events 101 is led by RAGBRAI's T.J. Juskiewicz and and Cycle Wyoming’s Amber Travsky. Together, they represent years of practical experience in the planning and execution of multi-day cycling tours. Plenty of time will be available for your questions about topics of concern to you.

If you're managing a bike tour for the first time, or want to brush up on the details of operating an existing tour, this annual session is for you. To reserve your seat, be sure to pre-register by using the Conference Registration page.

Events 301 is an advanced, self-guided discussion of timely topics of importance to ride directors, moderated by Wes Hall, Assistant Director of RAGBRAI.

Since insurance and liability are such an important part of our events, the last sessions on Thursday afternoon will be Insurance/Liability Issues for Events 101 presented by Scott Ziller, and Insurance/Liability Issues for Events 301 presented by Dan McKay.
