Lynette XanderLynette Xander, Wild Alchemy

Founder/CEO Chief Strategist + Moderator

With more than 20 years of account planning experience working in highly respected advertising agencies on globally recognized brands, Lynette is an expert in brand and corporate strategy, market research and consumer analysis. A three-time director of account planning (DDB Seattle, BFS/Chiat Day & BBDO Vancouver), Lynette founded Wild Alchemy to service the account planning needs of clients' and agencies alike. She has a patent pending on creativity techniques, and she teaches Account Planning at the Art Institute of Portland.

 

Ray ThomasRay Thomas, Attorney

Ray Thomas has focused his practice on jury trials including personal injury and product liability. He has presented educational seminars on insurance and personal injury topics, and has organized and presented seminars for Oregon and national gatherings of attorneys. He writes a regular column on bicycle law and safety for Oregon Cycling magazine.

His past positions include two years on the board of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), two years on the board of the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA), membership on the BTA Legislative Committee, and seven years as chair of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) Litigation Committee. He started a series of free legal clinics for bicycle riders in 1994, and gives regular bike law and safety presentations. His book Pedal Power, A Legal Guide for Oregon Bicyclists, is now in its sixth edition.

Since 1994 Ray and his law partner Jim Coon have led the Monday/Thursday noontime "Lawyer Bike Ride", usually from near the back of the peloton. Ray has four children and is active in Oregon's bicycle, traffic, and work safety communities as an activist, commentator, and speaker.
 

Dan McKayDan McKay, McKay Insurance Company

Dan McKay has served as a Board member on NBTDA and is the Safety Director for RAGBRAI.

In 1991, McKay Insurance Agency, Inc. was asked to design an insurance program for a large bicycle event. Since then our agency has established many successful programs for bicycle clubs, bicycle events and races throughout the United States and around the World.
 
Paul Collins, STRADA, Personal Trainer / Instructor / Cycling Coach

As an outdoor enthusiast Paul spends his free time biking regardless of the weather, rock climbing in the summer and snowboarding during the winter months. It is his personal and professional objective to be the catalyst for his clients to achieve high levels of physical fitness and well-being. As a dual sport collegiate athlete with a degree in exercise science Paul was inspired to pursue training as a permanent lifestyle. His training philosophy revolves around developing strength and flexibility for functional movements. This starts with mastering everyday single-axis exercises and progressing to multi-axial coordinated movements.  Paul understands the unique needs of his clients and takes great pride in tailoring individual training programs to meet those goals.
 

Mark Napier, IT Director for the School of Library and  Information Science at Indiana University.

As far as bike tours go, he works on TRIRI and he and Kathy Smith are the owners of K&M Events, Inc. He has written the software that handles registration and creates reports for their events. K&M Events has a web presence at www.bicycle-events.com. From there they provide registration services for other entities. (Currently the Bloomington Bicycle Club membership, the BBC's RAIN ride, Padre Cycle Inn services, and Bubba/Padre's RAGBRAI charter.)

 

Kristin Dahl, Travel Oregon

Kristin Dahl serves as Travel Oregon’s Tourism Development and Sustainability Manager.  Kristin spearheads Oregon’s bike tourism development efforts to help the state become a primary destination for cycling in the U.S. and to provide green options for travel throughout the state.  She has led the charge to develop a comprehensive Web site to share Oregon’s cycling opportunities with the world.  She is a founding member of the Oregon Scenic Bikeways Committee and loves mountain biking.
 

Dean RodgersDean Rodgers, KoiFish Communications

Dean is the president of KoiFish Communications has spent more than 20 years spearheading PR and marketing campaigns for leading and emerging consumer and technology companies nationally and around the globe.
He has worked at boutique PR agencies, mid-sized firms and large international agencies including Hill & Knowlton, Walt & Company and Benjamin Group. Most recently he founded and managed the Portland office of Weber Shandwick.

As an agency purist, Dean has had the opportunity to work with clients of all shapes and sizes. These include Snickers, Toshiba, Intel, Microsoft, Stalk-Market and Mentor Graphics. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in journalism/public relations and political science from the University of Utah.

Dean enjoys a diverse number of activities including motorcycle touring, wine collecting, competitive shooting, theater, fine dining, skiing and whitewater kayaking. In addition to PR, Rodgers has worked as a SCUBA instructor, a bachelor party coordinator and has even officiated a few weddings. From time to time, he also enjoys a good cigar.

 
Andy ClarkeAndy Clarke, Executive Director, League of American Bicyclists

Andy Clarke was appointed to the position of Executive Director in April of 2004 after successfully leading efforts to create, interpret and implement the various transportation programs that are available to improve conditions for bicycling and walking as the League’s State and Local Advocacy Director. Before joining the League in February 2003, Clarke was on contract to provide technical assistance to the highly regarded Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center on site at the Federal Highway Administration. In addition to his strong policy background, Clarke has managed a range of bicycle and pedestrian planning projects at the state and metropolitan levels and has worked extensively with state and local advocacy groups.

Clarke is a 1984 graduate of the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom with an undergraduate degree in Law. He is on the Board of Directors for America Bikes, and a member of the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycling Professionals.
